Polo on horseback is one of the oldest competitive sports known to man, dating back to the fifth century B.C. People from all walks of life are passionate about participating in the sport, caring for horses, and watching them compete. The polo and horse community has a rich and historic tradition of participating in many charitable events, both in the United States and around the world.
There are many economic, social, and educational benefits that come from communities that organize around sport and the care of animals. Cultural Polo Foundation is committed to promoting the sport of polo and horse welfare, while tying in cultural, educational, and artistic endeavors in the Washington, D.C. community.
Cultural Polo Cup plans to arrange a yearly charitable match, in conjunction with embassies in the United States, to raise cultural awareness and raise funds for cultural and educational charitable foundations in Washington, D.C.
The organization will leverage the enthusiasm of the sport and the polo community, along with the leadership and experience of the same, to create a focus on charitable donations to cultural and educational charitable foundations in Washington, D.C.
The board of directors will consist of leaders in both the Washington Polo community and abroad, as well as local leaders within
educational and cultural foundations and institutes.
The operations will be led by volunteers organized into the following committees:

During the next two months, Cultural Polo Cup will focus on the following activities to build the capabilities of the organization:
Recruit Board of Directors and Committee members.
Identify an attorney and accountant to provide guidance regarding legal, book
keeping, and tax issues.
Begin necessary filings with the District and Federal Government.
Form partnerships with nonprofits and government agencies that have expertise and resources related to Cultural Polo
Create an initial budget and operating plan.
Develop specific criteria for identifying the cultural and educational charitable recipients.
Develop methodology to ensure a
successful charitable polo match and gala are in place year after year.
Cultural Polo Cup team will concentrate on the creation of a yearly charitable polo match and gala, while deciding on the charitable recipient.
